"Johnno" Johnston aka "Shakin Stevens" officially
joined the club in 2003 after consistent nagging from his work
colleagues (Board, Hudd and Colwill). He brings to Blagdon his
boyish charm together with his ability with the bat to play some
scintillating and classic strokes. His debut league 50 at the
start of the 2003 season proved what a gifted batsman he is. He
also bowls medium pace swingers although has recently been hauled
before the ECB for a suspect action. It is thought that this slightly
bent round arm action has formed itself from overmilking of cows
when being brought up on a farm in Congresbury. Johnno also plays
football at a very high level for the village of Congresbury where
he plays as a midfield dynamo.
